DYSON OFFICE OF STUDENT SERVICES & ADVISING

Building Relationships for Student Success and Belonging

The Dyson Office of Student Services serves as the main point of contact for Dyson undergraduate students and provides a full range of support services, resources, and referrals. Our team works with the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business Career Management Center, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Dyson faculty to support Dyson students throughout their academic journey at Cornell.

WHAT ADVISORS DO?

Academic Advisors can assist students in understanding and gaining connections to resources that can assist students in working through circumstances and anxieties impacting their academic and overall well-being. We focus on building relationships of trust by meeting students where they are to allow for them to have the knowledge needed to make good decisions. Ultimately, you are responsible for the decisions you make and how they impact your educational experience.

HOW CAN ADVISORS HELP?

Academic advising is an intentional and developmental process in which students and advisors work together to help students persist and thrive at Cornell.

  • Educate students about requirements, expectations, and support resources within Dyson, the SC Johnson College of Business, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, across campus and beyond.
  • Engage with students in an intentional and developmental process to assist them in clarifying and realizing your educational and personal goals.
  • Provide a safe and non-judgmental space to discuss concerns and interests.
