From: Date: October 29, 2023 Subject: Dyson Digest - October 29 - PRE-ENROLL INFO
I hope you enjoyed the amazing fall weather this weekend!!
In our recent advising appointments, we have been hearing more and more incorrect information that students are receiving from well-intentioned peers. You should verify any degree requirement questions by emailing Dyson_OSS@Cornell.edu. The best option for a quick answer is to email OSS and it will be directed to the correct person ASAP. We each are dealing with hundreds of emails daily and it is easy for things to get lost. (Please do not copy multiple people).
A lot is going on in our world right now and you never know what someone else is going through. Share a smile and a kind word when you can!
Continue to take care of yourself and others. Don’t Bear it alone!
Andrea Poag Director, Dyson Office of Student Services & Advising

Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31, and Halloween 2023 will occur on Tuesday, October 31. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats.
SUPPORT A STUDENT SURVEY FOR AEM 4000 Zero Hunger, Food Access, and Food Waste project
Are you passionate about sustainability? As part of our AEM 4000: Zero Hunger, Food Access, and Food Waste project, we are consulting a fresh juice company on their transition to sustainable packaging solutions. We would appreciate understanding your perceptions of sustainable packaging alternatives through a brief survey that we can use to assist our client! Your feedback will ultimately help us drive positive environmental change and create sustainable packaging solutions that align with your values.
This survey is being conducted as part of a capstone project for the Dyson Grand Challenges program (AEM 4000). Students, professors, staff, and alumni can participate, and completion should take approximately 3 minutes. The results will be presented in summarized form and viewed only by the project members and AEM 4000 staff. All responses are kept strictly confidential, with only numeric coding on the surveys.
