Only two days left in the spring semester!! I hope you can take a break before having to study for finals. As you are leaving for the summer, please be safe and enjoy your break.

Remember that the Dyson Office of Student Services and Advising and other support offices are open throughout the summer for appointments to answer questions, plan for future semesters, or discuss any concerns.  

Good luck on your final assignments, projects, or exams. Congratulations to our Dyson Graduates! We look forward to celebrating with you in a couple of weeks.

Review your current spring 2024 courses NOW – make sure the courses on your Student Center match your actual courses for Spring 2024.

RISING SOPHOMORES (PEER ADVISING)

  • The swap request form for AEM 2600 and AEM 2225 is now open, however, we may not be processing these requests until AFTER pre-enrollment.
    • Remember that just because you submit a swap request, it may not be able to be fulfilled.
    • No swap requests will be accepted for Grand Challenges writing courses (AEM 2555, AEM 2805, AEM 2810, AEM 2818)

OFF-CAMPUS COURSES FOR SUMMER 2024

  • All off-campus courses must be pre-approved through the Off-Campus Course Approval.
  • If you are taking a Dyson Core course (aside from microeconomics, macroeconomics, calculus, statistics, or business law), you must also complete the General Petition form.
  • Both forms can be found on the Dyson Launchpad.

SLOPE DAY REMINDERS

Updated policies and reminders to help you prepare!

Waterbottles
You can bring an EMPTY, TRANSLUCENT, and NON-GLASS water bottle to the Slope. You will be asked to dump any liquids at the gates (like at an airport!). You CANNOT bring a glass container. There are water hydration stations within Slope Day where you can refill your reusable water bottle. Additionally, everyone will be offered a free water bottle as they enter Slope Day from one of the gates.

Clear Bag Policy
Slope Day will only allow clear/transparent bags that are 8 inches x 8inches or smaller. Allowed bags include clear fanny/waist bags, drawstrings, and cross-body bags.

Bring with you to the Slope
Required items to bring: your student ID and Slope Day wristband
Highly suggested: Cellphone, waterbottle, pre-purchased food tickets, government-issued photo ID (for 21+ looking to purchase alcohol).

Things to leave behind (NOT allowed at the gates)
You cannot bring with you: sunscreen (offered at each gate and the water tent - sunscreen with no white cast will be available at the water tent!), outside food or drinks, illegal substances, large bags, lawn furniture, and more. Check the website for a complete list.

The Slope Day Experience

Slope Day is more than just the music! There are many opportunities to experience the day.


Slope Day

The main event! Gates open at 11am and the concert will wrap up around 4:30pm. Read the website for rules, restrictions, and what to expect from Slope Day.

 

Slope Fest

Be sure to stop by Slope Fest on Ho Plaza! Slope Fest will include FREE food, drinks, carnival games, prizes, music, and more. Pepsi is giving out Bubbly, Gatorlyte, tea, and chips. Between the Main Stage performances, there will be performances from student groups (see above line-up). Note: you must have your Slope Day wristband to participate in Slope Fest.

 

Alternative Slope Day: Hoffman Challenge Course

Alternative Slope Day is an opportunity for folks to get off campus on Slope Day and try something new. The Campus Activities office works with Cornell Outdoor Education to offer free spots to the Hoffman Challenge Course. The ropes course and other activities are all "challenge by choice". Limited tickets will become available Wednesday 5/1 for undergraduate students. If space opens, we will invite graduate + professional students.

BreakFEST

Start your morning off with breakfast in a dining hall or get a FREE BreakFEST sandwich, fruit, and water in front of the Schwartz Center in Collegetown from 7:30AM - 10:30AM on Slope Day. Hosted by Cornell Health.


Sensory Room
Looking to take a break during Slope Day? We are offering a sensory room space in the Willard Straight Hall Music Room for the duration of Slope Day. Puzzles, toys, coloring books, a calming environment, and more. You can enter through the Cornell Health-side (smaller) entrance of Willard Straight Hall. Tell the staff member at the door you are looking for the sensory room!
