Join us for the Faculty Fellow's Food for Thought Series: LGBTQ+ with Professor Trent Preszler. This is a safe space community conversation. All are welcome! Dinner provided.

LGBTQ+ students are more likely than their non-LGBTQ+ peers to experience poor mental health, bullying, and harassment. This community conversation is intended to provide a supportive and affirming safe space to LGBTQ+ students and allies.

Trent Preszler teaches five courses in Dyson’s Grand Challenges Program. His research and teaching are focused on sustainable business practices within the agriculture and forestry sectors, plus diversity and equity in the outdoor recreation economy. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and CBS Sunday Morning.

Before joining the Cornell faculty, Preszler was (for 20 years) CEO of the Long Island winery, Bedell Cellars. During that time, he also served as Chairman of the Board for both the New York Wine & Grape Foundation and Wine America, the national association of American wineries.

After growing up on a cattle ranch on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, Preszler’s first job out of college was a White House internship for President Bill Clinton. His memoir, LITTLE AND OFTEN, hit #1 on the Amazon Books best sellers list and was A Best Book of 2021 in USA Today. A documentary about Preszler’s life won the 2017 New York Emmy Award for Best Lifestyle Feature.
